Studying Chemical Engineering at Sheffield equipped me with the problem-solving skills, technical knowledge, and teamwork experience I now use daily as a Process Engineer in the nuclear sector. The hands-on projects, supportive staff, and cutting-edge facilities—especially the Diamond—prepared me for a challenging and rewarding career path.

Originally from Colombia, Evelyn arrived to find a small city, close to a wonderful hiking space and brimming with opportunity! Now, she acts as the Outreach Officer for the Engineering Without Borders Society where she goes into schools to inspire children into discovering the passion that she has for STEM.

Chloe has just completed her final year studying for MEng Materials Science and Engineering. Soon she will be starting as a Trainee Patent Attorney in the Engineering, Manufacture and Consumer Products team at Reddie and Grose LLP

Since graduating in 2021 Sam is now working for Jacobs (a nuclear engineering consultancy) as a Materials Graduate. As well as task managing a project Sam is also involved with materials testing and research.

I really enjoyed the artifacts project as it gave us the opportunity to conduct our own research and present the findings at the end.

Christine took part in the SURE scheme where they spent 6 weeks working with researchers from the University making novel cathodes for sodium ion batteries. "The fact that I had done this project put me in a really unique position where I had relevant experience before graduating my degree."
