Online delivery is conducted via the Blackboard Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), supplemented by a Google Site containing course materials available to delegates for three months after the course.

Details on the accessibility of Blackboard Collaborate can be found here.

Some courses may require specific software to be downloaded prior to the start of the course at no extra cost to the delegate.

Courses are not recorded.

All course materials are the intellectual property of the University of Sheffield.

Delegate conduct

Delegates are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and respectful manner at all times during the course. This includes interactions with the course faculty, fellow delegates, and any other individuals involved in the course.

We are committed to providing a learning environment that is free from harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Delegates must treat others with respect, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other characteristic.

Active participation is encouraged and often essential to the learning experience. Delegates are expected to engage constructively in all course activities, including discussions, group work, and assignments.

Delegates should strive to attend all scheduled sessions and be punctual. If a delegate expects to be late or absent, they should notify us at scharr-scu@sheffield.ac.uk as soon as possible.

All course materials provided are for the delegate's personal use only. Unauthorised distribution, copying, or reproduction of these materials is strictly prohibited.

For courses conducted online, delegates should:

  • Ensure they have a stable internet connection and suitable environment for learning.
  • Mute their microphones when not speaking to avoid background noise.
