Dr Javier Hernandez-Allica
Javier is a soil and plant scientist working at Rothamsted Research. He joined Prof. Steve McGrath’s team in 2014 as a research assistant. His role is focused in carrying out research on nutrients and contaminants in soils and crops, with emphasis on developing new and existing analytical methods. Currently working for the Soil-To-Nutrition Institute Strategic Program, Javier has been involved in setting up a spectrometry laboratory for the rapid analysis of agricultural material without the need for time consuming and expensive wet digestion and analysis. One of the goals is to produce a scientifically sound new paradigm for predicting nutrients availability from rapidly measured soil and plant spectral information.
