Profile

Robert is an ecologist with experience of environmental monitoring of water, soils, herbage and atmospheric gases. His role in the project is to manage the Lowland Grazing Demonstrator site located at the North Wyke experimental farm in Devon. Previous work at the site has examined the effect of different vegetation types within riparian buffer strips and their effect on water quality and run-off, whilst other experiments at the North Wyke site examine the effects of different cropping systems on a variety of variables including water and greenhouse gas emissions.

Robert is involved in a number of projects including silvopasture trials, refining fertilizer recommendations, testing of soils’ nutrient status for crops and undertakes ecological surveys as well as environmental monitoring of potential agricultural pollutants to land, water and the atmosphere.
