Disabled applicants

We welcome disabled students. We are committed to responding effectively and appropriately to individual support needs. We take all practicable steps to ensure that disabled students can participate in their studies without disadvantage, and can make full use of the University's academic and support services.

Specific information for disabled students is available by:

  • Consulting our publication Information for Disabled and Dyslexic Students (PDF, 1.8MB), which describes the facilities and support currently provided within the University
  • Visiting our Disability and Dyslexia Support Service's (DDSS) website: Disability and Dyslexia Support Service
  • Visiting the University in person. If you can't attend one of our undergraduate Open Days you may wish to arrange an individual visit. You can do this by telephoning us at: +44 (0)114 222 1241.

We have standard procedures for considering your application if you have a disability. Our academic selectors only assess your academic suitability. Your support requirements are dealt with separately by the DDSS.

We may ask you to complete an online form where you can give us more information. This is optional, but can help us to arrange in advance any support you might require. Where appropriate, we can also arrange for you to discuss support with one of our advisers, or to visit the campus before you start your course.

To discuss support, please contact the Disability and Dyslexia Support Service at:
