Dave's duathlon for Parkinson's disease

Alumnus Dave is running 10K, cycling 20K, and swinging a steel mace 250 times to raise funds for our Parkinson's research.

David fundraising for Parkinson's disease

This autumn our alumni, staff and students have been getting active for Parkinson’s Disease research. The Sheffield Half Marathon and Sheffield 10K was supposed to take place on Sunday 27 September. When this was postponed, members of our community have taken on their own challenges instead to support this essential research.

One of our alumni David is thinking outside the box and doing something rather different. Taking on his own version of a duathlon, he's running 10K, cycling 20K, and swinging a steel mace 250 times.

“I've never swung a steel mace 250 times, I’ve never done a duathlon, and I’ve definitely never done it all in one go! Weather permitting, I’m aiming to put it all together in mid-November, and play my part in supporting this important cause.”
