Thomas Luke obituary
Born 1948, died 2011. A graduate of the School of Languages (BA French 1970).
Tom Luke, who studied French at Sheffield, sadly passed away on July 2nd 2011.
After leaving Sheffield, he worked for Barclays Bank in mainland Europe for some 20 years before taking early retirement and setting up his own translation company. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in 2009 but despite his rapidly deteriorating health continued to work until two months before his death.
He leaves his wife Mary (nee Campion), also ex Sheffield University, two daughters and three grandchildren. He will be missed very much.
