About our organisation

Pricecheck is a distributor of fast-moving consumer goods, partnering with world-famous brands and stocking more than 8,000 products from health & beauty, fragrance and toiletries to grocery, alcohol and household.

 

The challenge

At Pricecheck, we have focused our recruitment on graduates and created a clear pathway of progression within the organisation. We’re one of the UK’s fastest-growing wholesale companies and as the company has continued to grow, we needed to increase the number of quality applications we are receiving, particularly from graduates in the local area.

 

What we did

We worked with the University of Sheffield through their account management programme to create a tailored approach to help us engage with our target disciplines. In addition to advertising our vacancies through the University jobs portal, we attended the Placement and Graduate Jobs Fair,  Careers with Languages networking event, and the Faculty of Social Sciences Marketing Challenge.

 

The result

We met a Business and Management undergraduate student at the Careers Fair who hadn’t heard of us before. The student came to the Marketing Challenge event to learn more, applied for a role with us and successfully joined the Pricecheck placement scheme.

Pricecheck has seen an increase in the number of applications from University of Sheffield students, and crucially, these have been high-quality applications. We have increased our placement opportunities by 100% and expect to see continued growth for both placements and graduate jobs.

 

The Careers and Employability team have been really proactive, reaching out to me with any relevant opportunities to get involved from careers days to more specific open days and events that are targeting students relative to our business. I have really enjoyed working with the University of Sheffield and it’s great to see the increase of graduates and placements joining the business as a result.
