This project, led by Dr Mirna Jabbour, explores the relationships between carbon disclosure, carbon performance, carbon legitimacy and economic performance.

Antecedents and Consequences of Corporate Pro-Sustainable Practices

This research project, led by Dr Ali Meftah Gerged, investigates the drivers and consequences of corporate engagement in pro-sustainable practices, focusing on corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance and disclosure practices. Consequently, the research is divided into two main streams: the drivers of pro-sustainable practices among firms and the added value of such corporate engagements.

Environmental Sustainability & Economic Performance in Agribusiness: a cross-country study in Brazil and UK

The project, led by Dr Juliana Meira with Dr Olga Cam, aims to understand the adoption of sustainability-oriented practices and their influence on performance in the context of innovation ecosystems in agribusiness, comparing emerging and developed countries.

The Curious Impact of Donor Knowledge on Support to the Cause When NGO Disclosure is Opaque about Myopic Behavior

Dr Ozlem Arikan investigates donor’s reaction when an NGO is financed by a party whose business exacerbates the problem the NGO is fighting against. Although this practice is ubiquitous, most NGOs lack transparency about the issue. If donors simply assume that NGOs are not financed by such parties, this makes the problem worse, which calls for donor education.

NGO Accountability in a Conflict Zone

This project, led by Ahmad Abras and David Yates, investigates NGO accountability perceptions, practices and structures that have emerged and developed in the highly fluctuating context of the Syrian conflict. It offers unique understanding of NGO accountability by studying accountability within its local cultural context and exploring its transformative potential.
