PARALLEL SESSIONS:

MPlan Urban Planning: Welcome Talk and Q&A

BA Geography & Planning: Welcome Talk and Q&A

(45 minutes)

Academic staff and student ambassadors (some of our current students) will provide a course-specific welcome talk where they dig deeper into the course. They will cover key information such as modules, contact hours, teaching and assessment methods, field trips, and career support. There will also be time at the end of the talk to ask any burning questions you have during a dedicated Q&A.

Doing Planning at Sheffield - Part 1

(30 mins)

Once you have discovered more about your course in the Welcome Talk, you will then get to participate in the first of two interactive planning-focused activities, working with academic colleagues and current students alongside your future coursemates. These will demonstrate how our world-leading research is brought into the classroom.

Comfort Break (with refreshments)

(15 minutes)

There will be a short break between the two activities, where you will visit the common room, grab some refreshments in our Common Room and get to know academic staff, current students, and your potential future coursemates even better! If you have any further questions after the welcome talk or first activity, you can also ask them here.

Doing Planning at Sheffield - Part 2

(30 mins)

After the short break, you will then get to participate in the second of two interactive planning-focused activities, working with academic colleagues and current students alongside your future coursemates. You will see some of the skills that you could learn as a Planning student at Sheffield.

During this session, there will be a separate session for all supporters to attend. An academic colleague and current student(s) will provide further information, and it is another opportunity for supporters to ask questions or share any uncertainties they may still have.

At the end of your visit, you and your supporter are welcome to join us for an optional building tour before you leave.

Central tours and exhibitions

Central exhibitions and tours will run for a limited period during the day, if you're attending an afternoon session please ensure you make time to visit these before your schedule starts at 2pm - check your offer holder day guide for more information.
