Modern data analysis methods such as optimisation algorithms require large datasets generated by a large number of high quality and reproducible experiments. At Sheffield, we developed an affordable open-source robotic system that allows for multiple cell-biology experiments to be conducted with minimum supervision.
We have developed an open-source robotic system that allows for high-throughput fluorescent imaging in multi-well plates, automated solution application and image analysis. This platform can be used for high-throughput immunostaining experiments and live-imaging of fluorescent reporters. This system is now being used in a series of experiments intended to optimise the protocols of stem cell differentiation into neurons.
