Description

For this seminar we welcome one of our own members of the History Department: Mohammed Alruwaili, who is in the third year of his PhD on the treatment in ISIS literature of the ideas of the medieval Islamic scholar Ibn Taymiyya. Mohammed will be presenting a paper entitled 'Religious extremists’ use of Islamic concepts: jāhiliyya and ḥākimiyya in ISIS's perspective'.

From February until May, we will be hosting individual presentations and panel events on topics ranging from fin-de-siècle colonial warfare to Argentinian theme parks and cultures of debate in post-1945 Western Europe.
