Profile

Yvonne is a PhD student, supervised by Prof Markus Dederich, at the University of Cologne (Germany), Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation. Her PhD studies are funded by the Hans Böckler Foundation, the foundation of the German Trade Unions, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Her PhD project circles around the question how Disability Studies can productively theorize affect and emotion. She argues for shared theoretical concepts and terminology on affect and emotion to enable a comprehensive engagement around emotionality within the field of Disability Studies.

Yvonne holds a B.A. in Rehabilitation Pedagogy (major in psychosocial rehabilitation, minor in aesthetic education) and a M.A. in Rehabilitation Sciences with (major in structures of the rehabilitation system) from TU Dortmund University (Germany). Prior to her PhD project, Yvonne worked as a Research Associate at the TU Dortmund University then at the Technical University of Munich.
