Sheffield is a memory to cherish for a lifetime.
What are your main responsibilities in your current role?
I am currently working on the PayPal Consumer Application for iOS.
Please outline your career history: how did you get to where you are today?
I started my career as a junior Software Engineer, and further advanced into mobile app development through continuous exposure to mobile technology in my first organisation.
Thereafter, I learned Backend engineering in Python and the Google Cloud platform. However, the passion to improve in my existing domain was persistent which made me pursue a Masters in Advanced Computer Science from The University of Sheffield. In the university, I spent time with some of the best in their fields to learn more about how to implement best practices in the current software paradigm. This has lead me today to work on one of the greatest fin-tech applications, PayPal.
Why did you want to come to the University of Sheffield to study your chosen degree?
I wanted to improve in my existing domain of Software Engineering and also learn about the cool trends in Data Analytics.
What were your favourite things about or best memories of the University of Sheffield?
Sheffield, as a city itself, is a memory to cherish for a lifetime. I also enjoyed the design of the curriculum and the university's facilities such as the high computing GPU labs and the three big libraries. Not to mention the beautiful greenery around the open campus as well as the paternoster in Arts Tower.
