I received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and then went on to get a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from San Diego State University. After working at University of Pennsylvania as a research specialist aiming to identify novel drug targets for malaria, I decided to change careers and become a physician associate (PA).

In 2010, I received a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Pace University in Manhattan and passed the Physician Assistant National Certification Examination. Upon graduation, I joined Pace University as an adjunct faculty member on a per-diem basis. I practiced as a PA for three years in Hospitalist medicine (similar to acute medicine) and over two years in Renal Transplant clinic before moving to Sheffield in June 2016 as part of the National Physician Associate Expansion Programme (NPEAP).

I was an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University before joining the University of Sheffield as a Teaching Fellow in October 2018. In addition to teaching the first and second year students at the university, I also supervise students on clinical rotations on the Acute Medical Unit. I am an examiner for the FPA National OSCEs and for the University of Sheffield Medical School.
