Victoria Hughes

I have been working at the Medical School for over 17 years and have experience in a wide range of areas; from admissions to graduation. I worked for 7 years within the Student Affairs & Support Team (SAST), supporting medical students.

My current role is as the Early Years Programme Administrator, which I commenced in June 2021. I have responsibility for the phase administration and student advice/support whilst for Phase 1 and 2 of the MBChB.  I primarily provide advice to students on any Phase matters including Leave of Absence, examinations, course-work submissions/deadline extensions and students support issues. My work involves curriculum planning and I sit on the School’s Curriculum Management Committee and the Phase Management Committees.  I work with a team of staff who produce the timetables and teaching/support resources along with all the coursework information and organisation.

I also support and manage other key areas including HEAR for medical students, the staff-student committee, student experience action plan, external examiners.

I have recently completed a PGCert in Higher Education Administration, Management and Leadership and have a strong interest in professional development.
