At the University of Sheffield I made friends who are friendly and supportive

Before I went to college, I felt material sciences was quite interesting and could be very helpful to our daily life. I was also enthusiastic about learning physics.

During my courses, I found what I enjoyed most was learning the fundamental principles behind physical phenomena and understanding how the properties of devices are determined by their internal structures. I also enjoyed learning about advanced developments in physics, such as quantum theories and high energy physics.

I learned how to analyse and solve a problem by thinking rationally using physical approaches, rather than being confused by it. My self-study ability also improved as I needed to think and try to find solutions by myself after class. Through the experiments in my project and last year courses, I got in touch with some advanced experimental instruments and became familiar with some current academic research.

I think physics has been pushing people to explore and understand the world, which gives rise to the colourful society we have today. Based on my curiosity and passion about physics, I plan to further my studies at the graduate level and may continue my career in physics.

At the University of Sheffield I made friends who are friendly and supportive, through team work and social activities. The campus is delightful and comfortable with parks and cafes located around it. The academic environment is open and inclusive with dedicated teachers whom inspire me in mu studies. I’m glad to study in the University of Sheffield and will cherish this valuable experience.
