Dr Nikita Johnson

Nikita Johnson is a Research Associate in Computer Science at the University of York. She was awarded a Masters in Computer Science with AI (MEng), and completed her PhD on the Assurance of Safety and Security for complex systems. Nikita values working on real-world problems with industrial partners, and has previously worked with BAE Systems, Office for Nuclear Regulation, National Rail, and the Institute of Engineering Technology. Her research interests are assurance (risk and argumentation), co-assurance of safety and security, and training and education.

Nikita’s current appointment on the Assuring Autonomy International Programme (AAIP) allows for greater collaboration with stakeholders from multiple application domains, with the aim of identifying cross-cutting patterns for the assurance of Robotic and Autonomous Systems. 

In her role on the CSI:COBOT project Nikita is:

  1. the lead for qualitative research investigating the training and educational needs (knowledge, skills and behaviour) of stakeholders working with collaborative robots
  2. doing core research into co-assurance and the risk interaction points between safety and security for cobots
