Dr Purshouse in live Sky News broadcast

In a live interview with Sky News's Dermot Murnaghan, alcohol pricing expert Dr Robin Purshouse explained the findings of decision analytic modelling research conducted at The University of Sheffield in light of recently announced alcohol pricing measures by the UK Government.

The model and its findings, published in The Lancet (2010; 375:1355-64), have already featured prominently in the national debate on alcohol minimum pricing, including live interviews with Dr Purshouse on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today’ programme. Sheffield’s contribution to the debate on the availability of alcohol is continuing, with a £1m three-year research programme funded by the Medical Research Council that began in November 2010.
