Emma running for Parkinson's disease research

Emma Shelton from Economics and Journalism is training for a 10 mile run in aid of Parkinson's, a cause very close to her heart.

This autumn our alumni, staff and students have been getting active for Parkinson’s Disease research. The Sheffield Half Marathon and Sheffield 10K was supposed to take place on Sunday 27 September. When this was postponed, members of our community have taken on their own challenges instead to support this essential research.

Emma Shelton from Economics and Journalism is training for a 10 mile run. Emma is aiming to complete her run before Christmas, with the help of her dog Rustle. After this year’s Big Walk was cancelled, Emma has taken on the challenge for a cause close to her family's heart.

“Unfortunately, my mum was diagnosed with Parkinson's several months ago, so it felt right for me to support the research. I've not run long distance since the Sheffield half  marathon a few years ago, so it's a good reason to challenge myself”
