Open Days

University open days which are held in the summer and early autumn before you apply for degree programmes, are a chance for you to get a feel for the University – the atmosphere, the people, the campus and the city – and to find out more about the subject you want to study: Archaeology!

The Archaeology sessions give you the chance to discover what Archaeology is all about in a hands-on session with some of our collections, to find out more about our Undergraduate programmes and the fieldwork opportunities we offer, and to learn about the many career choices Archaeology opens to you. You’ll also get the chance to meet and talk to some of our current students, and staff.

In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to take a tour of the campus, Britain's best Students' Union and University accommodation and get a feel for life in Sheffield. There are talks about studying abroad, how to get loans and grants and other things that matter to you.

We are now taking bookings for our University Open Days on Wednesday 21st June, Saturday 8th July, Saturday 9th September, and Saturday 21st October 2017. You can book a place for you and your family on the University Visit Booking Form

If you’re unable to attend any of our open days and would like to arrange an independent visit please contact us at or phone on 0114 22 22900. We very much hope you can join us for one of them.
