- Profile
-
I received my BSc degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq, and the PhD degree from the University of Sheffield.
After completing my Ph.D., I worked for few years as a Research Associate in the Electronic and Electrical Engineering Department, Sheffield University.
Then I was working as a Software Engineer for Alcatel Telecommunications, where I was based in Ipswich as well as the United Arab Emirates.
Since 2002, I am working as an academic staff in the Electronic and Electrical Engineering Department, University of Sheffield.
My research interests include computational electromagnetics, dielectric resonator antennas as well as THz and plasmonic antennas. I have designed the first high temperature superconducting dipole antenna for which a patent was awarded. In addition, a prize winning paper was published on that work.
Since then I worked on various aspects of antenna modelling and design, which resulted in more than forty five journal papers with half of them published as IEEE journal papers that propose novel modelling methods in electromagnetics.
Furthermore, I have published several papers in international conferences. My name has been included in the 16th edition of Who’s Who publication for my research publication achievements.
