Scrub clearance and tree planting near the Arthur Willis Environment Centre
Starting on 30 January, we will be conducting some scrub clearance under the supervision of an ecologist. This will involve clearing brambles and removing ivy to ensure the long-term benefits of conservation in this area.
On Friday 8 February from 8am until approximately 4pm, we will be digging 8 tree pits. Disruption will be kept to a minimum and access to Maxfield Avenue and the Arthur Willis Environment Centre will continue to be available.
On Saturday 9 February, we will be lifting trees into position and therefore will need to close Maxfield Avenue for most of the day. There will be some noise but work won’t begin until after 9am and is expected to finish by 3pm.
This work was promised during our consultation with local residents. New trees will help improve the local environment and screen our temporary modular units on the Northumberland Road car park.
