Enhancing the student experience
⠀Your support means Sheffield continues to be number one when it comes to student life outside of studies. Our vibrant community of student clubs and societies is thriving. The difference these groups make to student wellbeing and personal development is remarkable. Thank you for giving back.
- Voted UK’s number one Students' Union for over 11 years running
- Over 330 student clubs and societies
- 60 different sports clubs
- More than £150,000 awarded to student projects over the last 5 year
Your support means students can experience sports at levels they haven’t had the chance to before. It’s so important for clubs because it helps them know there’s a future for their teams and that once they’re gone more students will have the same amazing experience.

Clubs and societies bring like-minded students together. The friendships forged are so important because they provide a support network for students. The pandemic has shown how these networks help students feel less lonely and isolated. Thanks to you, we’re here for those who don’t feel connected.

I’ve gained so many new skills after taking on roles such as Publicity Secretary and Operations Officer. I’ve learnt how to plan events, manage communications and engage people online. I’ve enjoyed taking responsibility and feel really proud of the work we do helping to eradicate period poverty.
