Ali’s research draws on theories from a range of disciplines, including educational psychology, critical disability studies and education theory to explore Saudi disabled and non-disabled teachers’ understanding of inclusion, disability and the label of intellectual disability, to uncover the disabling barriers in Saudi mainstream schools and to offer suggestions for ending or, at least minimising, inequalities and exclusion of disabled children from and within Saudi mainstream schools.
