After being a student in Sheffield for two years I am confident to say that my experience has exceeded my expectations.

I chose Sheffield because many alumni have told me about their amazing experiences of its high quality education, number one Students Union and its immense diversity. The city itself is also breathtaking, with the perfect balance of nature and urbanisation. After being a student in Sheffield for two years I am confident to say that my experience has exceeded my expectations.

The best thing about the university is how much they care. The university has such a good wellbeing system that has supported me so much, especially being an international student. Services such as the nightline, the big white wall, my tutor, and my mentor have helped me greatly. The university has created a home for me in a place far away from home.

My top tip for Hong Kong students is to always put yourself out there, even if it makes you feel a little uncomfortable. University is the best time for you to step out of your comfort zone and try out new things that you never thought you would but always have an interest in! You don't have to worry about what other people think of you because when you enter university you are a brand-new person, and most people at the university will have never met you before. It is the perfect opportunity to challenge, improve and be the best version of yourself!
