Please outline your career history: how did you get to where you are today?
My qualifications obtained from university - Bachelor of Microbiology and Masters of Philosophy in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology - enabled me to reach the place I have reached now. Over a period of 25 years of working in the laboratories of medical and environmental services.
Why did you want to come to the University of Sheffield to study your chosen degree?
Because of my strong, urgent desire to learn and acquire new skills in a multi-ethnic and multicultural environment, and to develop my scientific and technical capabilities in molecular biology and biotechnology in a prestigious international university.
What were your favourite things about or best memories of the University of Sheffield?
Sheffield was a beautiful city, green with trees and hills, and a peaceful city prepared for learning and studying . One of my favourite memories at the University of Sheffield as a student was that the university was prepared for learning by supporting all of my possible needs. I also enjoyed studying in the laboratories of the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. My supervisors and students were cooperative and we were learning in an atmosphere of altruism, love, fraternity and cooperation - in order to reach the goals we aspired to.
Please explain how has your qualification and/or time at Sheffield helped you in your career?
There is no doubt that my qualifications obtained from the university of Sheffield raised my level and helped me to develop my scientific and practical skills.
What has been your greatest achievement to date?
My greatest accomplishment was training many technicians on laboratory skills and techniques.
