What first attracted you to join the University of Sheffield?
The University has such a good reputation, and looking at the website, seeing what the University is about, along with the benefits, really attracted me.
What do you enjoy most about working at the University of Sheffield?
I really enjoy working in my team, and the environment in the office. I love how many opportunities and benefits are available to staff members, from training opportunities, to social things, such as, the book club, and services available to support staff. There are so many good things nearby, such as, the Student Union with all the good food spots there, as well as, University Arms, and of course John's van.
What do you enjoy about working in the department?
I enjoy how well we all gel together, and always help one another. No day is ever the same which makes the roles we do so exciting, and I learn something new each day.
Do you have any favourite memories from working at the University of Sheffield?
Yes, the first time I used the Paternoster with my colleagues who started the same day as me. It was funny trying to time it right. We're used to it now. I also really thought it was so lovely when my colleagues surprised me with decorations on my desk for special occasions, such as the run up to my wedding.
What’s your favourite thing about Sheffield as a city?
Sheffield is such a green city. We have the Peak District nearby, but we also have a variety of good places to eat and have fun. It's lovely having Weston Park and Crookes Valley Park next to the Arts Tower, where we work.
What would you say to someone who was considering the University as a place to work?
I would say personally I've felt so happy since I started working here. I enjoy the environment, my job and the team I work in. I also think the flexibility of hybrid working really helps to keep a good work/life balance.
