Our undergraduate degree programmes are designed to give you a solid foundation in linguistic theory, and allows you to link this theory to the huge array of real-life contexts in which language is used.

You can either study linguistics alongside English language in the School of English, or combine your linguistics study with another subject such as Japanese Studies, Philosophy or Modern Languages and Cultures.

International Merit Scholarships

We offer a generous package of financial support for international students including 75 undergraduate scholarships worth £10,000 towards the annual tuition fee and 125 postgraduate taught scholarships worth £5,000 towards the tuition fee. Applications are now open for existing offer holders.
