Description
AI Research Engineering Workshop: Open Biomedical Multimodal AI Research. Led by the AI Research Engineering (AIRE) team from the Centre for Machine Intelligence (CMI), this hands-on workshop is designed to equip participants with the skills and tools needed to tackle key challenges in multimodal AI for biomedical research through four case studies:
- Brain disorder diagnosis
- Cardiovascular disease assessment
- Cancer classification
- Drug–target prediction
Participants will engage with public imaging, omics, and molecular datasets, including MIMIC (Chest X-ray and ECG), ABIDE, TCGA, BindingDB, and BioSNAP, and follow a standardised machine learning pipeline using the open-source multimodal AI library PyKale.
