Course description

This course supplements your engineering technical skills to support career development. Management theory and skills are contextualised within engineering by the use of case studies, applied learning and assessments.

You’ll develop skills and knowledge in the broad areas of operations management, people and organisational behaviour, strategy and innovation.

This course normally takes 18 months part time and is modular in nature. All modules are core to the programme.

Teaching

The learning and teaching sessions include, tutorials, lectures, business case analyses, problem analyses, student presentations and talks by visiting guest lecturers from industry.

Private study is also an important part of your development and you'll be expected to prepare for tutorials and assessments.

Our campus and how we use it

We timetable across the whole of our campus, the details of which can be found on our campus map. Teaching might take place in a student's home department, but may also be timetabled to take place within other departments or central teaching space.

Duration

The programme normally takes 18 months part-time. You will normally be taught in five-day block study periods at Sheffield University Management School.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject for example BEng/MEng or a BSc in a STEM subject.

English language requirements

Overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.
