DELTA2 guidance

DELTA2 guidance on choosing the target difference and undertaking and reporting the sample size calculation for a randomised controlled trial published in the BMJ

The School of Health and Related Research library.

The MRC-NIHR UK Methodology Research Programme funded DELTA2 (Difference ELicitation in TriAls) project led by Jonathan Cook at The University of Oxford in collaboration with Stephen Walters, Jo Rothwell and Steven Julious in DTS has just published its guidance in the BMJ. This document gives guidance on quantifying the target difference for clinical trials.

The paper was published simultaneously to the BMJ in the Journal Trials as an article collection including additional papers on the development of the guideline and a review – including Cindy Cooper also as an author - of how target differences are quantified.
