The ScHARR Transcribers Group (STG)
ScHARR has a team of staff members who are able to transcribe interviews, focus group discussions etc on a freelance basis. Each has completed Information Governance training and works to a set of guidelines approved by the ScHARR Information Governance Committee.
The cost of the transcription service is very competitive and an added advantage is that researchers can be in direct and personal contact with the transcriber or transcribers working on their project.
All those conducting research interviews and running focus groups should ensure they follow the Audio / video recordings guidelines in the ScHARR IG Policy Section 3.
Anyone wanting to make use of this service should first read the Guidelines for Allocators, then email the STG group administrators with the following details:
- The number of recordings.
- Length of each recording (in mins and seconds).
- Suggested deadline.
- Username of team members that require access to the transcribing folders (for ScHARR allocators only) stick to a minimum like a team member who will add recordings to folders and retrieve transcripts when completed.
- If you have a preferred STG member, eg one who has worked on the project before.
Further details should be provided to the transcriber using the form provided in the Guidelines.
