To find out more about language study in Sheffield - and to give you the chance to get to know us - you are warmly invited to come to an open day. The University Summer Open Days let you explore life at the University of Sheffield. You can learn about admissions, accommodation, finance, sports facilities and life at our award winning Students' Union.

Our campus tours allow you visit our library, sports centre and Students' Union, while you can also have a look around the city; the University is a 10 minute walk from the centre and forms a major part of the city's vibrant, friendly atmosphere.

You can also attend a talk in the Languages Sections. The School of Languages and Cultures offers a wide range of introductory talks, language tasters and mini lectures. This is your chance to meet staff and students, have a chat and find out more about what language learning with us is like.

Post-offer open days

JamesLanguages Post-Offer Open Days

If you apply for a place at Sheffield and receive an offer, we invite you to come to a School of Languages and Cultures Open Day. You can book your Open Day after you've received your offer. These Open Days will take place in Spring 2018 and dates will be confirmed nearer the time.

The Open Days will help you form a detailed impression of language study at Sheffield. You will find out about the teaching and support you will receive, the opportunities that await you both in Sheffield and on your year abroad, and why studying languages with us is your first step to a fantastic future. You will meet our current students too, who can give you a first hand report on studying at Sheffield.

Regardless of which language or languages you are interested in, languages Open Days all take place on the same day. This is so that you can visit more than one language section. More details follow closer to the date.

If you have any queries, please email slc-admissions@sheffield.ac.uk or phone on 0114 222 2864.
