Comparative European Politics is a leading international journal that arises out of a unique editorial partnership linking political scientists in Europe and North America.

The journal presents theoretical, empirical and theoretically informed articles that explore politics in Europe; the most regionally integrated political and economic environment in the global system. Comparative European Politics defines its scope broadly to include the comparative politics and political economy of the whole of contemporary Europe within and beyond the European Union, the processes of European integration and enlargement and the place of Europe and European states within international/global political and economic dynamics.

SPERI Director Professor Colin Hay is one of the journal’s three editors. The others are Ben Rosamond (University of Copenhagen), and Martin Schain (New York University) who leads the North America office. The journal’s administrator at Sheffield is Dr Stuart Bennett.
