Emma Mahoney
PHD CandidateDepartment of Geography
With an academic and working background in urban planning and a deep motivation for environmental stewardship, my research interests include local government action relating to climate change in the UK, as well as municipalism and participation in practice. I joined the University of Sheffield's Urban Studies and Planning Department in October of 2022, following completing an MSc In Environmental Change and International Development from the Department of Geography. During this degree I specialised in urban development in the Global South, and completed my dissertation on Justice in Urban Climate Governance with Dr Linda Westman of the Urban Institute.
