  2. Student Recruitment Update

    • (DB and MAB in attendance for this item)

    • UEB received and noted an update on the University’s recruitment for 2023 entry based on the latest data from 8 January 2023.

    • In respect of broader recruitment activities and the engagement of prospective applicants, UEB noted a Summer School the City Marketing Campaign.

    • During discussion, UEB raised and/or noted the following points:

      • The available intelligence on the reasons underlying the University’s performance relative to its peers.

      • The continued decline of PGTH applications and acceptances across the sector.

  4. Report of the UEB Information Management & Security Group

    • ​​​​​​​(Meeting Held on 30 November 2022)
    • UEB considered and approved the report, including
      • The recommendations and next steps to reduce the risks associated with the University’s email accounts.
      • The recommendation that there be an explicit change to the IT Policy to clarify that University accounts should only be used in support of University activities, with personal usage no longer permitted.
      • During discussion, attention was drawn to the continued pleasing level of staff and student engagement with the Email Retention processes that had been implemented. Further thought would need to be given to an alternative repository for important emails and related documentation.
  5. Round Table

    • Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF): TW reported on the submission of the Student component of the University’s TEF return to the Office for Students (OfS).
