Applications for PhD scholarships for study commencing in the 2020-21 academic year are now open. The closing date for these scholarship applications is Wednesday 29 January 2020 at 17:00 GMT. In the interest of fairness, late applications will not be accepted.

How to apply: Applications for University funded PhD Scholarships are submitted through the University's Postgraduate Online Application Form.

Department Prize PhD Scholarships

The Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Sheffield invites applications for three and a half year funded Prize Scholarships open to UK / EU / international applicants.

The scholarships will cover University tuition fees and a grant for living costs. Applicants must be in receipt of an unconditional study offer (including fulfilment of all English Language requirements) prior to the scholarship application deadline above.


MSc Conversion Prize PhD Scholarships

The Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Sheffield invites applications for three and a half year funded MSc to PhD Scholarships open to UK / EU / international applicants.

The scholarships will cover University tuition fees and a grant for living costs. Applicants must be registered on a Postgraduate Taught Masters programme in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering and in receipt of an unconditional study offer (including fulfilment of all English Language requirements) prior to the scholarship application deadline above.


China Scholarship Council Scholarships

This scheme provides academically excellent Chinese students with the opportunity to study for a PhD at the University of Sheffield. The scholarships are supported jointly by the China Scholarship Council and the University of Sheffield.

The scholarship will cover University tuition fees, a grant for living costs and one return flight from China to the UK. Funding for each award will be up to 48 months. Successful candidates will be expected to have submitted their thesis and defended it via oral examination within this time. The fees are provided by the University of Sheffield.

Applicants must be in receipt of an unconditional study offer (including fulfilment of all English Language requirements) prior to the scholarship application deadline above.
