Profile

I graduated with a first-class honours degree in Preschool Education & Guidance and Psychological Counseling double major program from Boğaziçi Univertiy (Turkey) in 2017. After graduation, I worked in a private primary school as a school counsellor for a year before deciding that I want to further develop myself.

After my decision I applied to Turkish Government’s study abroad scholarship programme for further education where I received a full scholarship that covered both master’s degree and PhD. I have always been interested in speech and language development in bilingual children. Hence in 2018, I started my Master’s in Speech Difficulties at the University of Sheffield which I have finished with distinction.

In March 2019, I commenced my PhD in the Division of Human Communication Sciences. My research explores what is currently being done in the UK in terms of reading intervention the older struggling reader’s as well as aims to develop an intervention that incorporates technology for the same population.
