Profile

Mehdi's research has currently focused on DNS/LES of unsteady turbulent flow. He has developed a DNS code, "CHAPSim", during his PhD which is currently applied in studying various forms of unsteady flows in a Channel/Pipe with smooth and rough surfaces.

Qualifications
  • BSc (Aerospace Engineering)
  • MSc (Aerospace Engineering, Aerodynamics)
  • PhD (Mechanical Engineering, Study of Turbulence and Wall Shear Stress in Unsteady Flow Over Smooth and Rough Wall Surfaces)
Research interests
  • Unsteady turbulent flows (Numerical: DNS/LES; Experimental: PIV/LDV)
  • Bypass transition in turbulent-to-turbulent transient flows (Smooth-wallRough-wall)
  • Control of turbulent flows
  • Turbulent flow over rough surfaces
  • Aerodynamics of wind turbines
