Pre-application Open Days
These open days let you explore life at the University of Sheffield. You can learn about accommodation, finance, sports facilities and life at our award winning Students' Union.
Our campus tours allow you to visit our library, sports centre and Students' Union, while our accommodation tours take you to the student village to get a feel for where you would be living. We would also recommend having a look around the city; the University is a 10 minute walk from the centre and forms a major part of the city's vibrant, friendly atmosphere.
Our Music talks give you the opportunity to find out about the Music Department and our degree programmes while our Faculty Exhibition offers you the chance to informally chat to staff and current students.
Pre-application open day dates for 2018 will be available shortly.
To book on an open day or campus tour please visit this website: www.sheffield.ac.uk/undergraduate/opendays

Music Open Days - Post-offer
We are committed to showing you what a music degree with us is all about, and how you will benefit from studying with us. Our department open days (held between January and April) are normally for offer holders and include a tour of our facilities, alongside a presentation about our research and music making. There are plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We are particularly pleased to include an opportunity to discuss the course with staff from all our specialist areas.
Before the open day offer holders will receive an invitation to come and visit us. On the day you will receive a sample lecture from one of our specialist staff, a tour of our facilities, and take the chance to find out why Sheffield is so well known for its research and research-led teaching. You will have the opportunity to chat informally to staff and students over refreshments.
What happens at a departmental open day?
It's your chance to compare Music at Sheffield with your other choices. We will present ourselves as one of the finest departments of music in the country but you need to decide if the course (all three years) is right for you.
If you feel that your application would be best served by meeting individually with admissions staff at music please email email@example.com
We are passionate about music. If you have a similar drive and commitment please do get in touch.
Typical pre-application departmental open day schedule
