Course description

Speech and language technology graduates are in demand in areas like machine translation, document indexing and retrieval, and speech recognition. Our world-leading language and speech research staff will help you to develop the skills you need.

Students have the option to take either Software Development for Mobile Devices, or Object-Oriented Programming and Software Design.

Teaching

We use lectures, tutorials and group work.

Assessment

Assessment is by formal examinations, coursework assignments and a dissertation.

Duration

1 year full-time

Entry requirements

Minimum 2:1 honours degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering, linguistics, mathematics or psychology.

English language requirements

Overall IELTS grade of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.
