    Course description

    On this course, you’ll develop an in-depth understanding of dental public health practice. You'll be able to apply your understanding to challenges in the delivery, planning and management of health services.

    You’ll learn how to critically analyse problems and find practical solutions that protect and promote oral health.

    Once you've graduated, you’ll also be able to understand and carry out health services research and apply key findings into dental public health practice.

    This course often produces the researchers of the future, with many students progressing to study for a PhD.

    Entry requirements

    A dental or health-related degree or evidence of professional experience with at least one year's postgraduate experience.

    We also consider a wide range of international qualifications:

    Entry requirements for international students

    Overall IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, or equivalent.

    Pathway programme for international students

    If you're an international student who does not meet the entry requirements for this course, you have the opportunity to apply for a pre-masters programme in Science and Engineering at the University of Sheffield International College. This course is designed to develop your English language and academic skills. Upon successful completion, you can progress to degree level study at the University of Sheffield.

    Fees and funding

    David Locker Scholarships

    Three scholarships are available of £7,500 each for students with a background in social science and/or dentistry who are seeking to register for this course for the academic year 2021-22.
