Dementia South Yorkshire (DEMSY)

Research and Education in Relationship-Centred Network

Welcome to Dementia South Yorkshire, a new network for our work in education, research and community engagement initiatives. Dementia South Yorkshire is rooted in our established associations with leading local voluntary sector organisations that seek to excel and innovate in dementia care and support. We share the simple view that good relationships make a big difference in dementia.

Dementia South Yorkshire is committed to promoting authentic and meaningful, relationship-centred, initiatives to enhance the quality of life of people with dementia and their supporters. DEMSY also seeks to promote personal and career development for dementia care practitioners.

At our first meeting on September 10th 2014 we were delighted to welcome the following organisations as DEMSY associates: AgeUK Sheffield, Alzheimer's Society Barnsley, Alzheimer's Society Sheffield, Barnsley Independent Alzheimer's and Dementia Support and Darnall Dementia Group. News of the strands of work we are developing together will appear here shortly.
