Maxine was awarded an ESRC White Rose Social Sciences Doctoral Training Partnership and started the 1+3 programme in 2020. She studied her MA in Social Research at the Sheffield Methods Institute, and joined the Department of Sociological Studies in 2021 as a PhD student. Prior to this, Maxine has been involved in research since completing an undergraduate degree in 2001. Following roles in the Health Protection Agency Centre for Infections (Epidemiological Scientist), where she completed an MSc in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and The Royal College of Surgeons in England (Audit Co-ordinator), Maxine joined the School of Health and Related Research at The University Of Sheffield in 2011. Maxine continues to work as a Research Associate within the Centre for Urgent and Emergency Care whilst undertaking her studies. Her primary role is to manage research studies with a focus in urgent and emergency care.
