First Lego League Competition

The First Lego League Competition 2010 was hosted by the University of Sheffield, at the Octagon Centre, after an earlier postponement due to adverse weather conditions.

This year's competition involved the building of Biomedical Engineering robots to discover ways to repair injuries, overcome genetic predispositions, and maximize the body's potential.

Several schools sent teams to compete, and staff from the Department of Automatic Control and System Engineering were pleased to be involved in preparations for the event and in judging the efforts of each team. After an enjoyable day, the 'Thunderbots' team from Firth Park School, Sheffield were awarded first place.
