Two PhD Studentships available
Two fully funded PhD studentships are available to both home and overseas candidates as a result of the recent appointment of Dr John Terry to a Prize Readership within the department and successful candidates will be trained in a multidisciplinary neuroscience environment.
Research will involve the development of mathematical and computational technologies that can be directly applied to problems in experimental and clinical neuroscience. A number of different projects are available, with the specific project being chosen by the successful applicant following a period of background reading and preliminary research. In September 2010, the new £12.8M Sheffield Institute for TRAnslational Neuroscience (SITRAN) will open and candidates will have the opportunity to interact directly with clinical and experimental neuroscientists.
