As well as this it will help to fund creative workshops for the hospitals patients to take part in during their stay. All the funds raised from the elephant auction will go towards a life-saving piece of equipment that will make a huge difference to young patients and their families.

Sheffield is known internationally for it's steel production and is established as one of England's main indussrial cities. From 1916, an elephant called Lizzie was employed through WW! as the city's horses were enrolled by the military. Lizzie carted heavy loads of steel and machinery through the city's streets for Thomas Ward Ltd. Herd of Sheffield will celebrate the 100th anniversary of this special elephant and reaffirm the legacy of innovation which still exists in our city today.
