Frank is Chemical Engineer with Diploma and PhD degrees from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He also received his Habilitation from RWTH Aachen in 2004. In the same year, Frank started his carrier at BASF SE as Senior Scientist and later on as Research Manager in High Temperature Processing. In 2008 he became Innovation Manager for Metal Systems within the Global Business Unit Inorganic Specialties. 2010 Frank took over responsibility for Global Marketing and later on the Business Management of Products of the Global Business Unit Electronic Materials. End of 2011 he moved back to BASF’s Chemical and Process Engineering Department.
In 2004 Frank started to give lectures at RWTH Aachen in the area of high temperature and solids processing. Since 2011 he holds a Professorship as apl. Prof. Dr.-Ing. at RWTH Aachen.

Frank is currently Senior Research Manager and Head of Particle Formulation and Handling Group at BASF SE in Ludwigshafen. In this role, he manages the global R&D activities in this field of Solids Processing, ranging from the development of new process technologies and optimisation to troubleshooting and debottlenecking in BASF’s global production plants.
