Vaccination and Immunisation ONLINE Update Training
Who is it for?
This study session is suitable for all registered health professionals working in primary care and secondary care sectors, who have undertaken basic Vaccination and Immunisation training previously and now need an update. This course is not suitable for Health Care Assistants.
Overview of content:
- Current issues in vaccination
- Recent epidemiology of vaccine-preventable diseases
- Any changes to the National Immunisation Schedule/relevant legislation
- Flu vaccination
- Q&A/Quiz sessions for commonly encountered problems in practice
What is it about?
This online supported study session (2.5 hours) is about issues around consent; communication; vaccine incidents; and current issues/changes to policy and local updates on vaccine preventable diseases, question and answer session.
How does it enhance practice?
Upon completion of the study session, participants will receive a certificate to confirm participants will be up to date in relation to the above areas.
Course Structure
We are no longer running updates as these can now be accessed through the eLfH website. We suggest that as a minimum you complete the following learning modules and your specialist area of vaccine preventable disease:
- Communicating with patients, parents, and carer
- Legal aspects
- Vaccine storage
We would encourage you to also complete flu and COVID modules.
Training recommendations for COVID-19 vaccinators.
We recommend that you download your certificate of completion for your records as evidence for your employer and as part of your revalidation.
